During the summer, this boat ramp is used to load tour boats from the beach, thereby preventing wet feet. In the winter, there’s not much call for boat tours so this ramp sits idle, pulled high up on the beach out of reach of the tides.

you’ve moved your large images to flickr? is that an improvement on hosting them yourself?
No, it was something of an experiment in this case, driven in part by the move to WordPress 2.0 and its terrible image upload. Haven’t decided whether to stick with this or not; will probably end up using a mix of the two since not all the images I have on here are in Flickr.
