Perhaps one of the strangest places we went while on the Big Island, this shot was taken from inside a lava tube. As you can see, no lava in there now – just water! It was actually raining outside while we were in here, so the shelter was quite welcome.
This was part of a very memorable day that started with waterfalls and then went through craters, steaming landscapes, sulphur fields, a ring, this lava tube and the glowing clouds of steam where hot lava poured into the ocean.
