About

You’ll find a mix of content here; everything from technical to photography. And recently, a few baby/toddler related articles have made it in too.

Who Am I?

Glad you asked! I am a vegetarian husband and father living in Alameda, California, but I grew up Just outside of London, UK, in the heart of Pooh Bear country. At work, I am CTO at Devicescape Software in San Bruno, as well as the founder of a small app business called ourLivez.

I am a Chartered Engineer (the UK equivalent of a Professional Engineer) and member of the IET in the UK. That, combined with my degree, gives me the right to a long list of letters after my name, but I rarely use them.

Interests

I am interested in almost all things tech (my wife thinks I am a geek…), but especially mobile and embedded technologies. The intersection of technology and life. Outside of technology, cars, photography, travel and the environment are also important to me.

  1. Hello John,

I stumbled upon your blog while I was researching a recent home for sale in the Alameda Bayport housing development. My wife and I are in the middle of planning a renovation at our small home in El Cerrito and decided to spend an afternoon looking at what the alternatives would be if we instead looked for a new home. Long story short, we are now seriously considering buying a newer/larger home and really liked what we saw in Bayport (we looked at the Mediterranean model that was for sale at 2318 Coral Sea). We were not yet ready to place a bid, but we really liked the floor plan of that model.

If you don’t mind conversing with a potential shopper of homes in your area, I have a few questions that I think you may be able to answer!

I’d understand if you were not interested, so I’ll just leave it at that and say “thank you” for posting your blog publicly for me to read about your experience with the bidding process that Warmington held some 10 years ago, as well as your dealings with the HOA.

    Cheers,

    Joe
