Perhaps not as iconic as its nearby neighbour, the Sydney Opera House, the Harbour Bridge is still an impressive structure. We didn’t climb it during our short visit to Sydney back in early 2002 – perhaps the next time we visit we will.

Espresso
My favourite kitchen appliance, although to call it an appliance does it an injustice since it is not only a great espresso machine, but also looks great.
Next time I should try to get a photo of it actually making the coffee. This, and the others in my Flickr stream, were taken the day I got it and before I had made any coffee using it.
Hard Drive Detail
This is a close up shot of the underside of the hard disc that I froze to recover the contents from it. By the way, that same disc is running just fine as one of a RAID-1 pair in another machine now (both my main office machines are now using RAID-1 pairs – shame the laptop cannot, but the X40 only has space for half a hard drive as it is.
Fire Alarm
One of many street fire alarms in San Francisco; this one is outside the Ferry Building. Some have a blue reverse side that calls the police instead. Not sure how likely the side walk is to burst into flames, but at least I know that help can be summoned easily. And it doesn’t have far to come either; there is an SFFD fire station on the water front opposite the Gordon Biersch brewery.

White Hibiscus
Today’s hibiscus is a beautiful white one, again from Maui.
You can read more about Hibiscus plants in their Wikipedia entry.
